Yalex is a single braid 12-strand rope constructed of Honeywell's type 1W81 high tenacity polyester. Yalex is always finished with a Maxijacket coating to optimize the abrasion life of the rope. Yalex is the strongest of all Yale's polyester ropes. Yalex, at a 5:1 application factor, maintains an equivalent working energy absorption capacity to Double Esterlon at a 4:1 factor. Yalex is also extremely easy to splice.
